Leslie C. Gerlach, Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) Specialist, Professional Trainer, and Licensed Massage Therapist, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Baylor University, with an emphasis in Health and Fitness. She has worked at several of the top fitness facilities in the Dallas area, including the world-renown Cooper Fitness. Leslie was named one of Dallas’ top personal trainers by “D” Magazine for three consecutive years. Throughout her experience in the fitness industry, Leslie has completed many certifications and educational courses including:
National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) – Personal Trainer Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research (CIAR) – Advanced Physical Fitness Specialist CIAR- Biomechanics of Strength Training PTPT I – Advanced Biomechanics of Strength Training PTPT II-- Advanced Program Design PTPT III-- Advanced Performance Training AFAA -- Group Exercise Instructor RTSm –Resistance Training Specialist Mastery—completed all coursework MAT—Muscle Activation Techniques Internship-Certified Specialist MATm—Muscle Activation Techniques Mastery—completed all coursework Additional courses in Neurophysiology.
In addition, Leslie went through Massage School and is a Licensed Massage Therapist. Leslie was the first female MAT Specialist in Dallas in 2001-’02, and among the first to bring Muscle Activation Techniques to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. With over 14 years of experience in the field, Leslie has been an instructor for the Cooper Institute, taught Physical Education courses to junior high and high school students, worked with professional athletes, and been a published author with Russell Publishing Group, as seen in Inform Magazine. Currently, Leslie is working with some of the Dallas Cowboys, both past & present, and continues to “bridge the gap between fitness and rehabilitation” today. |
